Questions asked often
What is the difference between shop drawings and fabrication drawings?
Fabrication drawings show how each part is made: cut sizes, bends, holes, welds and finish. Shop drawings show how the parts go together on site. We produce both, from the same model, so they always agree.
Can you make 2D drawings from my 3D model?
Yes. Send the native file or a STEP or IGES export. We build the drawing from the model, so dimensions stay linked to the geometry.
Do you add tolerances and GD&T?
Yes. We apply general tolerances from your title block and add GD&T to ASME Y14.5 where the fit or function needs it. If you have a standard, we follow it.
Which file formats do I get?
PDF for the supplier, DWG or DXF for CAD users, and the native SolidWorks drawing if you work in SolidWorks. BOMs can come as a spreadsheet.
How much does a CAD drawing cost?
It depends on the number of parts and how much detail each sheet needs. You get a fixed price for the whole set within one working day of sending the files.
Can you handle a large batch of drawings?
Yes. We are a team of four engineers, so a batch can run in parallel, and every sheet goes through a second-engineer check before delivery.
